code update

We just did a rather large code update, with something like 50 separate commits... that's a lot. This should fix a lot of issues we've been seeing.

We're redoing the docs from scratch, because the ones on LJ are just awful. Right now, having no docs at all is worse than having bad documentation, but several people are working on creating some actually useful documentation for the S2 system.

It wasn't the "no docs at all" part; it was the "lack of 404/placeholder" part. I think letting people visit your directories is a security risk.

Hiding directory contents implies you're betting on security through obscurity, which is not security at all.

I'm totally agreed with you that we should put up index/empty pages so directory contents aren't listed, but that's mostly to prevent confusion when someone lands there, not for any security reasons.
